One month has passed since Elden Ring's launch, probably FromSoftware's most souls-like release so that time, and the action RPG remains on peoples' minds. It's still on my list although I did manage to get out of in the Lands Between briefly to play Ghostwire: Tokyo. I am awed by the characters and the world of Elden Ring Runes However, I've never imagined them in Tekken 7. That itch if there ever was one--has been scratched by a moderator who thought it would be cool to watch characters like Melina and Radahn play each other around in a completely different way.
Modders named Ultraboy decided to swap a number of Tekken 7 characters with folks that you meet and fight in Elden Ring. Named "The ultimate Elden Ring Mod," and available through the site Tekken Mods, it swaps normal fighters like Kunimitsu and Lidia with Malenia and Melina as well as Melina. The Starscourge Radahn too is included (as Marduk, the wrestling character Marduk) and so is the mysterious stead Torrent (replacing Kazumi's Tiger) along with five other Elden Ring characters.
Watch the video above. Did you see "Ranni the Witch smashing the shit out of a Tarnished inside the Raging Wolf armor set" on your bingo card? I certainly did not. Bandai Namco published both games and it's possible to extend your imagination to claim there are "lore motives" to allow the two worlds to cross over. This wouldn't be the first Tekken crossover, and it certainly isn't its first mod. Although, I'm sad to think that Radahn has the ability to kick my a$$ with both Elden Ring and Tekken.
Because the mod's design is bizarre, it has caught the notice at the attention of Tekken producers and director Katsuhiro Harada, who's been tweeting about it in a seemingly approving way. However, it's also apparent that he's annoyed by the number of "misunderstandings" that can arise when players play with mods, and then complain about strange "bugs" in Namco Bandai's customer support.
People are performing all kinds of absurd things using FromSoftware's latest update, such as summoning massive enemies that you wouldn't normally summon, or making the cheap Elden Ring Runes gameplay way more difficult than it already is. The mod transforms the game into a surreal nightmare, featuring Homer Simpson fighting Shrek and Donkey. Keep up the crazy stuff modders. I'm here to support it.
